Wendy McNett was born and raised in Short Hills, New Jersey. Her father was a designer, most notably designing cars for General Motors and toys for Coleco. So she was exposed to art and design at an early age.  Later on, while studying advertising at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications,  she learned about the inner workings  of the fashion industry through summer internships at Ralph Lauren, and Mark Eisen. She helped produce shows and lent clothes to stylists. This was when she first became aware of the role of the stylist in fashion, and realized that was where her true passion lay.

After graduating with a degree in advertising and graphic design, Wendy moved to New York City permanently to pursue a career as a stylist. She assisted Victoria Bartlett on shoots for French Vogue and Italian Vogue with Steven Klien, while  styling her own shoots for  independent magazines such as Surface and Oyster,  and foreign editions of Harpers Bazaar.

Wendy has been a freelance stylist for the past 14 years. In addition to the magazines already mentioned, her work has also appeared in such publications as: Elle, Elle Mexico, British GQ, Spoon, Marie Claire (Asian edition,)  West East, DNA, Interview, Blackbook and Paper. Some notable photographers she has worked with include: Patric Shaw, Sante D’Orazio, Fernando Milani, Diego Uchitel, Troy Word, Cleo Sullivan and Wolfgang Ludes.

She has styled celebrities such as Jake Gyllenhaal, Heidi Klum, Norah Jones, Jamie King, Emmy Rossum, Ray Liotta, Joey Lauren Adams, and David Byrne.
Commercial clients include Victoria’s Secret, Pantene, Garnier, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nike, Adidas, Target,  Bravo TV, Cover Girl, Avon, L’Oreal, Tag Heur, Pepe Jeans, Request Jeans and Tommy Hilfiger.

Wendy's love for fashion, coupled with her background in graphic design, helps her use clothing to collaborate with photographers in creating an entire image.  And her advertising background allows her to understand clients' needs to help deliver their message. She enjoys the variety of working on a mix of editorial, advertising, catalog, and celebrity projects. And loves the challenge of working with many different personalities:  celebrities, models,  pro athletes and real people.
